Final Fantasy X-2: Warrior Paine

Ah, my first ever cosplay and the one that got me hooked to the hobby. This costume was test in everything from sewing skills (or lack thereof), woodworking, sculpting, carving, hair styling... you name it, I probably did it with this sucker. I had the most fun making the sword with the help of my Dad. The first incarnation of it was made entirely out of Owens Corning foam and the handle snapped during Fanime when I first wore it out. The second incarnation (and the one I still use) is made out of pine and is about 15lbs... it's a workout everytime I carry it around!

Paine kicks butt and has a butt-kicking sword. I think every cosplayer out there should have at least one character in their closet that requires an oversized prop. ;D I seriously feel incomplete in that costume without that sword. LOL

The first time I wore this costume I managed to convince my closest girl friends to cosplay with me as the other characters from FFX-2... it was so fun seeing all the reactions of the people at Fanime and taking pictures.
